6 Things You Should Never Do In The Early Stages Of Dating

When you go to the library and decide to read a book that interest you, by reading the first chapter, you will be able to decide if you want to continue reading or not.

That is exactly how it feels when you just start dating someone. The beginning is always very important because whatever happens at the beginning determines how strong the foundation will be.

This is the time when you feel excited and you believe that everything is possible in the relationship.

It's a stage where you will have to go through a lot of challenges and if care is not taken, you might end up making mistakes that will seriously affect you in the relationship.

But it is very important that you be mindful of the things you do.

6 things you should never do in the early stages of dating.

1. Don't share too much about you

Since you're still in the early stages, there is no need to tell them everything about you.

When you share too much about you in the beginning, they might become overwhelmed and it might result in a situation where they become uncomfortable.

Be careful not to be the only one talking, give them the chance to also speak. Speaking too much about yourself can give them the impression that you are self-centered.

Make sure you ask questions during the conversation and when they talk, show interest.

Knowing each other is very important, but it doesn't mean you have to share too much about yourself in the early stages.

I am not saying you should pretend to be someone else, what am saying is that there is no need telling them everything about you at once.

Be patient. As you go into the relationship then you can begin to share more with them.

Always watch how they react, if they show interest in what you're saying and ask questions, they are probably interested. But if you notice they are not comfortable, it might be a sign that you need to take it slow.

2. Don't communicate too much

Since you're still in the early stages, it is advisable to minimize communication with them.

Avoid calling and texting them too much. It's normal to feel excited communicating with them but too much communication can make them see you as someone who is clingy.

Ensure that you communicate with them in a healthy way. Not communicating too much will also make them miss you a bit.

Also, since they have to work and probably run errands, they might not be able to pick your calls or reply your text immediately. So, don't just conclude that they are probably not interested.

When you send them a text, wait till they reply your text before you send another. This will show them that you respect their space and time.

3. Don't play games

They will become confused when you play hard to get. Let them know your intentions and how you feel from the beginning. If you're not interested in them, don't be afraid to let them know.

The early stage is when you're supposed to know each other and spend some time together, it's not a time to play games.

When you play games with them, they will loose trust in you. Let them know that you're a straightforward person and they will be straightforward with you too.

So, be honest with them. Let them know how you feel from the beginning. It's the best thing to do if you want to create a solid foundation for the relationship.

4. Don't rush the relationship

It is better to take it slow so that the relationship will be able to develop naturally. When you rush the relationship, it might put pressure on the two of you and this might result in a situation where you have to end the relationship.

Starting a new relationship requires patience, so let the relationship develop naturally.

Talking about future plans too early can make the other person feel uncomfortable. Your main focus at this stage should be how to build strong connection, and the relationship will develop naturally.

Make sure you both want the same thing. Communicate so you will be able to know if your expectations are similar.

5. Never ignore red flags

When you just meet someone, you can feel so excited that you easily overlook some red flags.

Red flags are warning signs that tells you something might be wrong. Probably they always talk bad about their exes, giving you the impression that they were all bad people, or talking too much on phone when you're on date. These are bad habits that should never be ignored.

If you feel something is not right, don't just ignore. Make sure you prioritize your own feelings.

If you notice red flags at the early stages, there is nothing wrong if you decide that they're not the perfect person for you.

6. Don't talk about your exes too much

When you talk too much about your exes, the person you're dating might start feeling uncomfortable. And it might create the impression that you still think about your exes.

Leave the past and focus on what is in front of you. Talk about other topics that doesn't involve your exes.

Ask them questions about what's going on in their lives, and how they feel about the new relationship.

If they ask you questions about things that happened in your past relationships, just talk about it briefly and continue with the previous conversation. Remember it's a new relationship so it's better to forget about the past and focus on the present.

Conclusion
When you avoid doing these things, you will find it easy to navigate the early stages of dating.

Be yourself, focus on how to build a strong bond with them and let the relationship grow by itself.

Good results requires patience, and being patient always pay off.
